Meet Jason Dunnington

Jason Dunnington is an experienced professional with expertise in government and political affairs. He brings more than a decade of understanding in business and human development with a strong understanding of strategic planning, policy, and fiscal analysis

He was elected to the Oklahoma House of Representatives in 2014. During which time he was also an adjunct professor of sociology at Oklahoma City University and a licensed real estate agent. Dunnington earned his master’s degree in theology from Nazarene Theological Seminary and a PhD in sociology from the University of Oklahoma.

In the course of his six years in the Oklahoma House of Representatives Dunnington was recognized as the Legislator of the Year by numerous organizations including the Oklahoma Public Employees Association and the Oklahoma Educators Association. One of Dunnington’s most significant bills passed into law came in 2019. House Bill 1269, a bill making non-violent drug offenses retroactive, allowed for the largest commutation of incarcerated persons in United States history, providing a second chance for hundreds of Oklahoma citizens and saving the state millions of dollars.

In addition to his legislative experience, Jason is also an Aspen Institute-Rodel Fellow, which is a Nationally recognized leadership program designed to help solve America’s most important domestic issues such as healthcare, public education, and the environment.
